Reflection: JP in Arizonaland.
Arizonaland
…and it is the forbidden scorching dusty desert of saguaros and prickly pear
….and it is the cool conifer- capped mountains at 6000 ft
… and the only thing that is the same everywhere is the unchanging shitty architecture of urban sprawl
… and the landscape is one I can’t understand
…but I am not in studio
…and I am having fun…

Too much time.
They mopped the floor last night in studio! It looks real nice in here.
Reflection: Je Terug Trekken Uit Angst. By Jessie Lannoye
Speaking of sanity; after spending roughly 65 hours on our studio project last week, I’m realizing that this semester will never end. I’ve spent Monday and Tuesday of our ‘spring break’ grading a stack of papers, which I had to lug on the bus ride home in their own separate bag. Good thing in that 65 hours I learned how to make some kick-ass espresso. Being home does have its perks… being outside with my wonderful chickens! Too bad they don’t know how to grade papers.
P.S. The espresso frenzy that ensued here last week was sponsored by the wonderful Kammeron Hughes- we are indebted to you Kamm- you saved our lives.

Catalyst kids are Cray Cray!
At the University of Minnesota School of Architecture, students have opportunities to experiment with the interplay between light and material firsthand. Week-long intensive studios called catalysts provide students the opportunity to plunge headlong into experimental research and design topics with minimal distractions.
Well, this kind of activity just makes us feel like chumps..
A divergence of the cultural landscape. The
anti-project.
We are graduate students of the University of Minnesota, and will create the contents of this blog as we journey through Studio. We are learning from collaboration, history, policy and take out restaurants within an half mile radius. This studio will experience how the democracy, ecology, and culture co-evolve in relation to our own sanity.
